All of our breeding dogs complete an extensive panel of genetic and health testing before being considered for our program. This includes screening for, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), Multidrug Resistance 1 (MDR1), Hemophilia A, and more. 

Hip & Elbow Certification are obtained through OFA, FCI, or SV. Each dog also receives an Advanced Echocardiogram (OFA) and eye examination (CAER) - eye examinations are preformed every other year to ensure that no abnormalities arise with age. 

Only dogs that pass all health evaluations are approved for breeding - no exceptions!

Each puppy leaves Vom Schön Traumhund with a thoughtfully prepared puppy pack,  which includes:

• Vaccination records and a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian.
• AKC Limited Registration and AKC Reunite Microchip (transferred to you at no addition cost)
• Toys, treats, and other puppy essentials.
• A two-year Genetic Health Guarantee. 
• Copies of both parents' health testing results and pedigrees.

We strive to make sure every family has everything needed for a smooth, confident start. 

All of our puppies are raised in our home, under constant care and supervision. We follow Puppy Culture protocols to ensure early socialization, exposure to new environments, and positive developmental experiences. 

From Handling exercises to household noises and their first car rides, our puppies are carefully prepared for life with their new families. 

The short answer is no, bringing home one puppy is exciting, so it's easy to see why some families think bringing home two puppies is double the fun. Unfortunately, raising two puppies together can create serious behavioral challenges, often resulting in littermate syndrome. 

While not a medical condition, littermate syndrome describes the social and behavioral issues that can arise when two puppies are raised together in the same household.  

All of our puppies are sold with Limited AKC registration by default. Breeding rights are only granted under specific circumstances and only to approved, reputable breeders with established programs.

Yes, but timing matters. 

At Vom Schön Traumhund we require:

- Females must be spayed no earlier than 15 months of age.

- Males are not required to be neutered, but if you choose to neuter, they must also be at least 15 months of age. 

Delaying these procedures allows your German Shepherd to fully mature physically and hormonally, supporting joint health, growth, and overall well-being. 

Our dogs are known for their stable, confident, and social temperaments. We always welcome visitors to meet our dogs in person; transparency is important to us!

Producing puppies with outstanding temperaments is one of our top priorities, and it's a reputation we're proud to uphold.

Our puppies start at $3,500.

A $1,000 deposit to secure your spot on our waitlist, with the remaining balance due when puppies are 6 weeks old. 

Pricing may vary depending on the puppy's age, training level, or show potential. 

We do not select puppies by a first-come, first-served basis. 

Our program reserves the right to keep priority picks for ourselves and for approved show or breeding homes. 

We then assist each family in selecting the puppy that best matches their goals, lifestyle, and personality preference. This ensures every puppy is placed where they will thrive.

Our puppies are started on Purina Pro Plan Puppy food, Raw meat, and goats milk. We wean the puppies from the meat and goats milk before they go home but encourage keeping a little bit of raw in the diet!

We have been proudly breeding West German Show Line German Shepherd Dogs since 2019.

We are not a large commercial kennel, which allows us to dedicate more time and attention to every dog and litter. 

We currently share our home with 11 dogs, including our breeding dogs, two retired German Shepherds and two french bulldogs who are part of the family. 

All of our dogs live in our home, not in a kennel facility, allowing for strong bonds and daily social interaction.

We are dedicated to producing exceptional family companions, show-quality dogs, and sport prospects through selective breeding, extensive health testing, and careful temperament evaluation.

We are currently feeding Purina Pro Plan Sport 30/20 and Prey Model Raw (PMR) to our dogs. We do a half and half diet with the majority of our dogs with the males eating full PMR. We find our dogs are much healthier and look phenomenal after adding the raw to their diets!
